If physics is enabled in the project, the chair_device cannot be used. The player cannot interact with the chair, so sitting on it is impossible. Even through Verse, the Seat method cannot be used to force the player to sit.

Steps to Reproduce
Create a project with physics enabled, add a chair device, and then try to sit on it.
Expected Result
Player is seated on the chair
Observed Result
Nothing happend, there is no ui to sit on the chair
Add Physics Component: Select the prop in your viewport. In the Details panel, click + Add, and search for and select Fort Physics.
Configure Simulation: Within the Fort Physics component settings, you can:
Enable/Disable Simulation: Toggles physics on or off.
Simulate Physics: Check this box to allow the object to fall or move.
Override Mass: Adjust the weight of the object in kilograms.
Gravity: Toggle gravity on or off for the object.
Collision: Ensure the object has âSimple Collisionâ enabled to interact properly
When you run the example the chair_device works with Physics is enabled
You can sit on a chair and press key to exit
This is why there is no bug to fix/correct as the UEFN Example as described in documentation works
Originally when April 2025 the thread was started the Physics was beta meaning THAT TIME it would not work as it was BETA Now its production chair/physics in the example now works
REPEAT AGAIN THIS IS WORKING AS DESCRIBED ABOVE AND RETESTED IN 39.40.
ALL PHYSICS MUST BE REIMPORTED INTO AN ISLAND CREATED IN 39.40
This wont work on islands created before 39.40 you must import all your assets again.
@Jimbohalo10 ( @Flak ) I don`t understand what you mean⌠It is not possible to enable âFort Physicsâ for devices like the chair device and this is in my case (and I think for the others in this thread) not necessary⌠FACT is, that enabling the physics in the project settings make it IMPOSSIBLE to interact with the chair device and I can`t understand why Epic do not want to fix that critical bug!?
Agreed, but this is been my request since 29.60 a lot of islands broke in 30.00 and
My great request is that they test 40.00 with older islands, because we cannot downgrade server software. Will the publishing software still be compatible with earlier islands?
thanks for your answer. But fact is also, that beta physics work with all other devices in my map only the chair device does not - and I ask why is this not possible to fix? Because i have been creating for more than one year now and I want to release the map in a few months.
Making a new islands and importing assets is no solution, because all the assets and rules I have been placed in the map over the year would be away.
So I hope Epic will fix that also for maps created before 39.40, otherweise beta physics should only availible for maps created after 39.40 and not older!
