Impossible to Implement an Interface

Hi everybody,

I have a stupid problem which of I don’t find the solution.

When I am in my blueprints (Anim or Actor, whatever), I cannot add an “Implemented” Interface but only an “Inherited” Interface. It creates some problems and is really frustrating.

So I wonder, how can I solve this problem ?

Thank you all in advance for your help !!!

Hey @cdb71YTB
when you add an Interface, does it show up under InheritedInterfaces? Or is the button just somehow misplaced?

Yes, It show up under Inherited Interfaces.

It is as if those 2 are interverted.

Is this error only present in this project or in all of your projects?

It is present in all my projects (I work under UE5.1)

Are these fresh projects, so just created? Or do you try to use old projects? Did you just download 5.1 and opened your projects your did you isntall plugins / change settings?

For my main project, it is just created, almost 10 days ago. And for the others, they’re old ones (about 1 year).

But I do not use any plugins as I don’t like the performance cost they have so nope, I don’t have any.

I downloaded UE 5.1 and started a fresh project. Same result, the interface categories are swapped. I don’t know if this is a bug or feature but I submitted a bug report to Epic. I will post the link here if it gets accepted. (couldn’t find a similar bug report)

Thanks for posting this. I never got an answer to my bug report.

So what…. In the meantime we can’t implement interfaces in Unreal Engine???

Hey @xrider84!

Yes, you absolutely can. The naming scheme in that particular part of the UI is reversed at the moment, is all

There’s no options to even add interfaces under the add button in the “Inherited Interfaces”. Mine isn’t even showing up.

i accidentally opened and circled the namespaces, but the Interfaces doesn’t show anything either

Yeah you should be able to. This was in a brand new project, made an interface, made a base actor, and it did fine. This is 5.1, and yeah the misspelling in the UI noted in the original post is there.

Your problem is a different issue from the original question, so if you don’t mind, please make a new thread with accurate info so we can keep this thread on topic!
