Importing UE5 Manequin to Blank Project

Hello everybody,
I’m trying to import the basic male manequin files to a blank project, without using the “add content pack”, because it adds stuff that I don’t need like animations or the female character. Can you help me and tell me what the necessary files are so that I can delete the rest?
Thanks!

You say you don’t want the animations? Just the mesh then?

You can always just migrate the bit you want from another project, to the empty project. Everything you need should go with it.

I just need the character and the textures, and I will create the animations myself. I need this as a placeholder to start creating the animations so that in some time when I have a proper character i can switch to it but I don’t know what are the necessary files to “export”, since there are so many and I don’t even know what those are

That’s what ‘migrate…’ is for

Just right click the character mesh → Asset Actions → Migrate. It will show you a list of the assets that are needed. If you still don’t want some assets listed there, you can deselect them and then migrate. Make sure you select the “BlankProject/Content” folder as the target directory.

do I have to select just one of them like the mesh or do I have to select all like mesh, PA, SK etc…?(before migrating)

Just what you want. Everything else is handled by the reference system.

I selected the content folder of another project, but I get this error…
Where am I supposed to put the files?

You have to show it the content folder of the project you want to migrate to ( click on the content folder )

I did it again and worked, idk what happened before

You pointed at the downloaded folder, I think…

It didn’t import the materials correctly… I made sure to import those and all the textures connected to them but something did not work.

You don’t need to do anything like that… Just migrate is enough. I think you may have screwed up the references.

Let’s do something like this. I need the male mannequin to be a placeholder. So i need the mesh, materials, and everything I need for the animations (which I don’t know because I will try to learn it later once I have the mesh, but I suppose at least the skeleton?). What are exactly the files I need to migrate?

Just the mannequin, just migrate the mannequin. The engine knows what needs to go with it. You said earlier, you didn’t want the animations… One or the other.

Wait we misunderstood. I meant everything I need to make animations on my own, without exporting the animations themselves.

so just this?
because then when i click migrate it selects also the Quinn mesh, which I dont want

Yes…

You have to say yes to all that, because that needs to go with it…

See it selects also the Quinn Mesh… I don’t think that’s needed
