Sorry not able to understand which portion you are telling about has disappeared
As you can see when i imported the desk to Unreal Engine 4.13.0 you can see that the top has disappeared when in blender you can perfectly see it.
Not sure, but check the normals for that piece of the object. Looks like they’re reversed. To fix, hop into edit mode and ctrl+L select that piece, then hit ctrl+N, or go to the mesh menu → Normals, and choose ‘Recalculate Outside.’ Good practice in the future might be for you to have ‘backface culling’ activated under the shading tab as this is the same way an engine would render it. If your object seems to be turned inside out, or is invisible from some direction then the normals are facing the wrong way. This is common when creating faces by bridging (f key) extruded vertices.
Do you know a video tutorial showing how to fix this as i can’t seem to make it work… I will try to find a video myself aswell but any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Well this might help.
It doesn’t ;c Thanks for helping tho.
Sorry, should’ve been more specific. This isn’t an Unreal problem, it’s how it was built in Blender. (Should’ve been more specific, but it was late and I was tired.)
The first image I’ve attached shows two cubes with backface culling activated (it’s off by default). The one on the left has it’s face normals facing outwards, the one on the right has them facing inwards (much like the model you posted above). I’ve also included the areas of the properties region of the 3d viewport (n key menu) to show how to display these.
The second shows ‘a’ method to fix the problem (could also use ‘flip normals’ option also shown in the image).
Sorry it’s not a video, but hope it helps just the same. You could also do a youtube search for ‘Blender reversed normals’ or something of the like.
Thank you! You’re the real mvp bro you helped me with so many problems i had doing this I can’t appreciate you enough.
Thanks!
