imported animation has issues with moving shadows

Very new to UE 4. I imported an alembic cache of an animation of a boy jumping onto his bed. I’ve noticed that there are deep black parts where shadows are supposed to be on the character and they keep moving around even though the character is lying still. In the youtube video, the character has a deep black “shadow” on his chin that moves around.

No amount of light affects the deep black sections that move around so I don’t think it is a shadow issue. I also removed all the materials and the issue still persists so I don’t think it’s a material issue. If I go into the animation editor the issue is most noticeable in the “reflections only” view. Does anyone know of any way to resolve this?
