import different files with the same material name as geometry in the scene, but retain changes made to the previous file

Is it possible in a scenario where a cube has a generic white color material, and then a new material (i.e. Brick) is assigned to the geometry; when a different file is introduced in the scene (live sync or datatsmith) with the same material property (white), it will automatically prompt to display “do you what to change the material to scene material?” and it will have the brick texture instead of a generic white texture since I replaced it?

Lumion had this intelligence where it recognized that changes were made to the imported material, and will match this change to any future material introduce in the scene that had the same name, regardless if they are in different files or not.
