I need help recovering my original UEFN project and determining whether its old Unreal Revision Control/Lore history can still be restored after my local files were deleted by a Windows reset.

Summary

I lost the local files for my UEFN project, “ZHYLO 1V1 BUILD FIGHT (200 PUMPS)” after performing a Windows “Reset this PC → Remove everything.” The project was originally created in UEFN last year and contained my completed map. The island still appears in my Epic Creator Portal, so the project itself is still visible on my account, but the original local project files were deleted during the reset. I have since opened/regenerated the project locally, but the project is essentially empty and only contains two player spawns. Unreal Revision Control is enabled on the current project, but when I open Branch History, the only revision available is “Initial Snapshot,” with no history from when the project was originally created last year. My Project ID is 20ba671c-4ff5-9d46-4316-f18dd5095be1. I would like to know if Epic can investigate whether the original Unreal Revision Control/Lore repository, snapshots, or server-side revisions from the original project still exist and whether the original project can be restored or reconnected. I have not published or created a new release of the regenerated project because I do not want to overwrite or interfere with any possible recovery of the original project.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. I created a UEFN project called “ZHYLO 1V1 BUILD FIGHT (200 PUMPS)” last year and worked on the map.
  2. The project was saved locally on my Windows PC and was associated with my Epic account.
  3. On September 9, 2026, I used Windows “Reset this PC” and selected “Remove everything,” which deleted my local files.
  4. After reinstalling Windows and UEFN, I opened/regenerated the ZHYLO 1V1 BUILD FIGHT (200 PUMPS) project.
  5. The regenerated local project is essentially empty and only contains two player spawns; the original map content is missing.
  6. I enabled/opened Unreal Revision Control on the current project and checked Branch History.
  7. Branch History only contains one entry called “Initial Snapshot” and does not contain the revisions from when the project was originally created last year.
  8. However, the ZHYLO 1V1 BUILD FIGHT (200 PUMPS) island/project is still visible in Creator Portal under my Epic account.
  9. I would like Epic to check whether the original Unreal Revision Control/Lore repository and its previous revisions still exist on Epic’s servers and whether the original project can be restored or reconnected.

Expected Result

After reinstalling UEFN and reopening the ZHYLO 1V1 BUILD FIGHT (200 PUMPS) project, I would expect the original project and map to be recoverable from my Epic account or Unreal Revision Control/Lore history. I would expect the original project files, map content, and previous revisions from when the project was created last year to be available so that I can continue editing the original map. If the original local files have been deleted, I would expect any server-side Unreal Revision Control/Lore backups or snapshots associated with the original project to remain available for recovery or restoration.

Observed Result

After the Windows reset, the original local UEFN project files and map content are no longer present on my computer. The project “ZHYLO 1V1 BUILD FIGHT (200 PUMPS)” is still visible in Creator Portal, but when I open the regenerated local project in UEFN, the map is essentially empty and only contains two player spawn points. Unreal Revision Control is enabled, but Branch History only shows a single “Initial Snapshot” and none of the revisions or map content from the original project created last year. I therefore cannot access or continue editing the original version of the map locally.

Platform(s)

Windows

Additional Notes

I have not deleted the project from Creator Portal, and I have not intentionally created a new release or published the regenerated project since discovering the issue. I am specifically trying to recover the original project that I created last year, rather than recover the currently regenerated empty project. My Project ID is 20ba671c-4ff5-9d46-4316-f18dd5095be1. If possible, please check whether the original Unreal Revision Control/Lore repository, snapshots, or server-side project history associated with this Project ID still exists and can be restored or reconnected to UEFN.
