Here’s the project: MEGA

It’s a single-material, single-object, procedural explosion. You can apply it to any shape but it looks best if you use a sphere. It’s fully 3D. You can tweak pretty much everything about it, including speed, brightness, growth rate, dispersion, colours, base texture, etc.

It could be improved by adding particle effects, etc. Right now I’m basing the animation off of time -> frac, which I’m guessing could make explosions spawn half-exploded. If someone has a better suggestion than how I’ve done it, I’m all ears! I guess I could add a timeoffset field that you could assign the current time to on spawn. Any advice on that?
