Summary

So, I am creating a map that requires an instant switch between player classes multiple times. The problem is that after the first class switch, the class selectors take several seconds for another class switch. This bug happens even when the class selectors are set to ‘instant’ in the settings.

Steps to Reproduce

To reproduce this bug. You need two class selectors set to ‘instant’ on the ‘time to switch’ option. The two classes need to have different health settings so you can see the bug. Set each class selector to a different class. When the game begins, walk into one class selector and quickly walk into the other. You can quickly walk back into the first class selector to see it again.

Expected Result

What should happen is an instant transition between classes as soon as you enter the class selector’s field.

Observed Result

However, after the first switch, it takes several seconds to switch classes.

Additional Notes

I did a little testing before I posted this report. When you switch classes and wait a few seconds without changing classes, the bug does not show. The bug only happens when the classes’ differences are stats (i.e., health, speed) and inventory items. In other words, if the class selectors are only switching a player to another team, the bug does not show.

Have you tried using a device buffer?
I’m currently calling my class selectors via verse and using the class switched event and it works well. There is some time for it to switch because there are a lot of associations relative to the class.

Also depending on what you’re using your classes for you might be able to use verse.

I’m also having this bug.
