Hybrid Render in Unreal Engine 5.4

Have you ever heard about Hybrid Render in Unreal Engine? Well, I’m calling this name.
It’s a compositing with both renders Lumen and Path Tracer to achieve a better look for cinematic sequences.

I did this cinematic sequence in collaboration with Leartes Studios. I used their amazing Feudal Japanese Village assets and scene.
The compositing was made in After Effects.

Thanks to RTX GPU and NVIDIA Studio driver, it was possible to render in a couple hours, even with Path Tracer.

117GB of EXR files for both renders (Lumen + Path Tracer)

Josi Goetze gave me this intro idea of the fishes, referencing to Ocean and Moon spirits from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

This environment is so incredibly stunning and dream-like. It felt like a zone in a game that would be everyone’s favorite. :smiley: Also, since you mentioned Avatar - I think it’s spot on. So reminiscent of the movies and that world. Do you plan on creating more projects like this?

Yes, I’m constantly looking for solutions to improve cinematics coming from UE, and I’m planning to continue using both renders Lumen + Path Tracer composed together to achieve a better look for cinematic.

Also, yesterday I was testing this method with the 3d scan of my parents. I’ll be posting here some renders soon.
