Huge performance problem with RTX and landscapes (4.23)

Hi,
I converted a RTX scene from 4.22 to 4.23. With 4.22 I could use my landscapes without any huge performance loss together with RTX. But with 4.23 there seems to be somethimg wrong. In my scenes I have now 2-3 fps. Some maps I cannot open because the video driver crashes. (I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers)

I have the suspicion that RTX now also affects the landscape. When I switch off the visibility of the landscape my frame rate gets to 60 fps. But I cannot find any option or console command to exclude the landscape from RTX.

Perhaps this is a bug in current version. I don´t know.

Best regards, Andreas

There is a known issue with UE4 and RTX Cards. I have a GeForce RTX 2070 and there is a consistent “Video Driver Crashed Resetting” issue that UE4 has no idea what causes it and I have an open ticket with Nvidia, e-mailing back and fourth with tech support to find a solution. Tech support suggested that it may be fixed in a later update. I will post any updates I get on here, but if they don’t find a viable information to repair the crashes, us RTX card users may be SOL.

Did you found any solution?

Thanks for the reply. Meanwhile I discovered, that in my case this performance drop disappears when I switch off the visibility of Skeletal meshes (not landscape). But it does not working if I disable the visibility for each skeletal mesh in the scene separately.
