HUD Messages - 3 new bugs after last update

Please select what you are reporting on:

Unreal Editor for Fortnite

What Type of Bug are you experiencing?

UI/Tools

Summary

Message HUD device settings are not functioning correctly.
The override options don’t apply (text is huge, yet its set to size 15), used to only work on PC but now they don’t work on all platforms.
Then the Verse Text Style will apply to some platforms (like PC) and on PS5 will show as <(Style)>(Message)</> instead of the message that should be displayed.

Also when these new settings were introduced the old legacy settings didn’t show anymore, so 3 new bugs are making it hard to display content.

Steps to Reproduce

Place a HUD message device
Use the settings mentioned above

Expected Result

Text to show, with the settings that were set through the device

Observed Result

Message shows in default size, or it will only show in one platform (PC), or it will show as <(Style)>(Message)</>

Platform(s)

PC, PS5, Switch

Thanks, Wert. We’ll get someone to take a look.

I remember messages were displayed with tags when they had line breaks. Does it have tags for messages that are not multiline?

You can always write a custom message device, example:

That way you do not depend on epic releases and do not have to wait for bugfixes.

@Wertandrew Could I get a video and your logs?

Bit busy today but more creators can elaborate on these bugs, as there are more than 3 actually. Here is what I could gather:
