How Would I Build A Ray Tracer That Specifically Works Like This?

Hi everybody,

I’ve been wanting to write a ray tracer in my spare time that would hypothetically retrieve a certain amount of the remaining unused memory stored in RAM and build upon its main processes with simultaneous processes running in RAM, to achieve faster render speeds and larger render areas.

Does my idea make sense? (Please tell me if it’s confusing or if it’s been done before.) Does my idea seem possible?

Thanks in advance for anyone who’s done a lot with rendering who might be able to help.
