"How to split more than 20 models using automation code in a large project in RealityCapture?"

Hello, I am a user who wants to use Reality Capture professionally.

I participated in the monthly model-making competition in Reality Capture last year (2022) and won third place(?), and have been using PPI points provided by RC ever since.

Currently, I am preparing for a large project, but there is a limitation in RC where the number of model triangles is limited to 40 million, which prevents me from creating high-quality models all at once.

To solve this problem, I learned about a method using CLI code to automate the modeling calculation and production up to the final extraction through a tutorial on YouTube. However, since I have no related knowledge, it is difficult for me to delve deeply into this method.

While struggling with this problem, I was amazed to see a video related to VR wingsuit in the link below: (Meet JUMP: the world’s first hyperreal wingsuit simulator - Unreal Engine)

In the video, I saw a scene where more than 20 modeling tasks were automatically completed within one project, which is exactly what I need help with.

I have watched almost all the tutorial videos provided by RC, but unfortunately, there is no tutorial video on this method. Can you please tell me how to do this?

Hello @yunsik79,

The 40mil triangle limitation is only a displaying limitation. This means that models larger than 40min triangles won’t be displayed as solid in the 3Ds view, but they will still be created and their dense point cloud will be shown. A clipping box (3D SCENE / VIEW tab) can be used to display smaller parts of a model.

Here are two tutorials that may help you:

“Thank you. kumate Staff, this is the CLI pipeline I wanted. I will try to proceed whenever I have time, and if I need help, I will contact you again!” xD
