The Foliage in the asset map I downloaded was annoyingly created using Procedural Foliage.
Files generated with Procedural Foliage cannot be edited with the Foliage tool.I was able to select and delete them using the Foliage tool, but this method is terrible for deleting thousands of trees.
Further research revealed something called Procedural Foliage Blocking Volume, but it was completely useless. At best, it only slightly reduced the tree density by a margin of error, or conversely, increased it.
Is there any other way to remove Foliage?
Depends on how it’s being actually made and for what - this seems like you are messing around with the fortnite bs thing rather than the engine from the way it’s worded.
If you are using the engine you can change anything and everything in the level if you learn how to use the engine…
So? I’m asking what I should do.That’s why I created this topic as a question.
The problem is you are asking people without giving absolutely anything.
We aren’t in your mind, nor do we see your screen. I have absolutely 0 idea what you are doing (as explained). Then again i know what you shouldnt do? Exactly what you are doing
Seriously. Share some real information if you want people to help you. Like this it’s just not possible.
If I were to answer in your own way, it would be, “you can know anything and everything of human thought if you learn psychology or psychic abilities”
Joking aside, were you planning to answer my question?Your first reply doesn’t seem that way at all.Did you ask me for any information necessary to solve the problem? You only told me to learn how to use the engine.
I asked people a question, but not just you.If you have no intention of answering or the ability to solve the question, please just leave without saying anything.
You didn’t “ask a question” that’s answerable.
Again. What are you doing?
Show screenshots where applicable.
Then maybe someone will be able to answer your question less broadly.
Also, all else being equal, you should just learn how to set up and manage the PCG thing for instancing things, which is likely what is used to spawn foliage if you are using the modern engine…
To those struggling with this problem: I’ve found a solution.
Editing in Foliage now works by undoing changes made within the level using CTRL + Z.The reason the brush and blocking volume didn’t respond was probably because there was a shift in the asset internal coordinates after the migration.
