I have purchased a new video card and in a particular project it is not working to its full potential, I have attached a screenshot of my system loading during render.
In other projects where the scenes are a bit heavier, the system load was much higher, but I’m wondering why such a big downtime with my primitive renders, I want to get the result in 2 minutes, not 14, as it happens now (
How to make the system or video card work at full capacity, regardless of the loading of the scene?
I’m not an expert, but even if “not at 100%” doesn’t mean it’s nor working at full speed. It’s like it’s working as fast as it can, but it’s not full because it doesn’t need it; imagine one thing you can do with only one hand, working at full speeed with that hand, but you don’t need to fill the other hand, as you don’t need it and you wouldn’t gain any extra speed/time. If you would need to handle more tasks it’s ok, like doing that task twice, once with each hand, then it would be at 100% (and full speed, which is not the same, remember it).
What kind of rendering are you doing exactly?
What version of the engine, what scene, what pipeline/workflow?
Is this a real-time render that is locked to vsync?
How loaded is the GPU?
It’s totally possible that your scene is bottlenecked on something in particular, and to make the whole process run faster, you need to unblock whatever the bottleneck is, and it’s not clear yet what that really is.
