Sorry about the odd title, but I really don’t know how to describe this problem briefly without an image.

How would I create a rim-light effect like this?

I want to use it for a medical scanner device.

use fresnel in your material.

It works, but not completely. All components of the mesh are visible now. In the image from Elder Scrolls 4, the body is not visible through the armor. You’re only able to see what would be visible normally with no pass-through.
