How to implement foveated rendering on desktop computer?

Beside MariosBikos modified unreal engine, and OculusVR plugin for fixed foveated rendering, is there any good documentation how can foveated rendering (may be a fixed foveated rendering) apply on a desktop environment? UE 4.27 sounds promising in foveated rendering feature, but still documentation is missing, and guess it will take a while. I know foveated rendering, so far a virtual reality staff, but if we want to bring this for desktop/large displays, I cannot find a good documentation. Any assistance will be appreciated.
