How to fix 'over burning' issue with materials that animate

Hi

Wondering if anyone here can assist with a possible solution to a problem i am having where i have a plane object that has a material applied to it and is also animated when a user clicks on a button.
The flat plane moves up when animating.
The issue is when this is happening the material changes to a brighter or darker version of the original material texture.
You can see this via the screenshots below.

Any idea to keep teh material texture the same throughout the animation sequence?
