how to fix my reflections?

in 4.2, everything was fine by defalut. i got nice matte metallic reflections like this: link1

but in 4.4… i have this: link2

quality settings are all on epic, a set screen space reflections to max quality with this console command r.SSR.Quality 3…

can somebody help me how to fix this? why isnt this working in the first place?

i also tried 4.3 but there was the same problem.

Hi Jazvecina,

I’ve started looking into this and have been able to reproduce this with 4.4.

Can you post this to the AnswerHub (along with the link the forums post here) to more easily track bugs like this? Once posted can you post the AnswerHub link here and I’ll assign myself to it.

Thank you!

Tim

i already did, here’s the link: Reflection problem - Platform & Builds - Epic Developer Community Forums

Thank you! I’ll look into this a bit more soon and get back to you soon!

Tim

thank you tim

This isn’t a bug and I’ve not been able to tell a difference between 4.1.2, 4.2.1, 4.3.1, and 4.4.0

It looks like the difference in your images above is that the one listed for 4.2 hasn’t had the material changed to make the roughness 0 vs the default .4 setting.

There will be limitations for the reflections though because this would be a big performance hit to reflect the entire scene from any view.

You can see the differences in the Reflections examples in our Content Examples project from the Marketplace.

thats not the case. default scene, default materials. matte fuzzy reflections works in 4.2, but not in 4.4.

this is the default scene in 4.4

everything default, roughness 0.4, all settings on epic. no fuzzy metallic reflections.

when i try to set auto in the quality settings, it crashes every single time.

This is still not an issue with reflections directly as these were actually settings that were changed when 4.3 was released.

You can find this in the information for our 4.3 release notes.

As stated this can be changed in the Post Processing Settings under Screen Space Reflections.

Is there any solution. :frowning:

In the previous post it was mentioned that you can adjust this by using a post process volume in your scene and changing the settings for Screen Space Reflections. Under Quality you will want to enable this and change the setting to something higher than 50

It’s not working.
:frowning:

Can you provide more information, like what is not working exactly? Are you able to migrate the content from Vehicle game to your project by using the “Migrate” tool? Can you post a screenshot of your material along with any screenshots of your scene and what’s going on?

Thank you!

Tim
