How to disable THIS effect ( Vidéo linked )

Hi guys,

I m sorry I can’t exlain the effect itself so I’ve recorded it.

This effect from 0.12 to 0.16

It does kinda what our vision does when we come from a lighted place to the darkness, it needs some time to our pupils to habituate.

I’d like to disable this, to have always the 0.16’ result but I can’t figure out how.

Sorry for my English, that’s why I made a video.

Thanks!

You can disable auto exposure in the Projects Settings -> Rendering. Or you can adjust the effect’s intensity by selecting the camera and fiddling with min/max brightness in the Lens -> Auto Exposure

Thanks but It didn’t change much, still have this effect once the auto exposure OFF, and I ve tried by maxing the brightness and the opposite but it don’t change this effect.

Try changing the settings in this menu:

That only applies to the viewport while still in editor mode. As soon as you hit play in viewport, it ignores that. You have to set it up with an unbound post process volume and set the min and max exposures to 1 or something equal(make sure the check boxes are checked next to them). That will disable it from adapting while playing.

Ok that was it! now I have to play a bit with settings because it looks really unrealistic but my bad for didn’t even try to check the post process settings first.

I ve still got one problem I wanted to figure out myself but … When i use this post process in complete light it don’t white out the screen as a Night Vision is supposed to do, is this a post process setting to? I ve played with kinda all of them, can’t figure out how to set this

Thanks

Right below the min/max exposure settings, there should be one for exposure bias. You can use a blueprint to kick that up a bunch(a value of 2 will make things 4x as bright), when you toggle on your night vision. Just make a timeline with a float track that ramps from from zero to the exposure bias level you want. Make sure to adjust the total timeline length to something reasonable like 0.5 seconds or so(it’s toward the top of the timeline window). When you turn the night vision off, play it in reverse to drop it back to zero.

Awesome! Thanks, it finally has the aspect I want!

Thank you very much

No problem, good luck!
