How to create a visible mesh (grid) on my objects

Hi all,

My question has two parts. First, I want to make a grid / mesh type material with small dots that you can see on the ground plane in the below photo.

Once that’s been conquered, I want to figure out how to do a “multi-layered” version of this as can be seen in the polygon in the top right corner. It appears that there are multiple layers of this grid, each moving inward from the outer surface.

I’ve been looking around on the internet for a long time trying to create an effect like this, but no luck so far. I’m trying to learn the engine and any tips are very much appreciated.
