how to create a reflective yet invisible plane?

Hi,
I’m creating a still image of an object and i need to have it to reflect into the floor but the floor need to be invisible: i’ll composite the image over a limbo, so i don’t want to have a real floor beneath the object.

How can i achieve that?

  • The most simple approach add one more Actor and just mirror it on Z
  • You can try to use PostProcess shader that will add coloring morroring pixels above Z = 0
  • You can try to use some plane as floor, but I am not sure that it is possible to make something invisible from the one hand and reflective from another…

PS. Maybe you can achive this just by Material only using World Position node and World Position offset, but also not sure
