I’ve been experimenting with the idea of bringing Spotify into an Unreal Engine project, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to approach it. I’m tinkering with a small side project where I want the environment to react to whatever music I’m playing, but I’m not totally sure where to start when it comes to pulling in Spotify playback or track data.

I’ve gone through a few posts about using the Spotify Web API, but the whole authentication flow and how it fits into Unreal’s setup still feels a bit confusing. If anyone has tried something similar, I’d really appreciate hearing how you approached it, what worked for you, and what turned out to be a headache.
Right now I’m just trying to get a sense of what’s actually doable before I go too far down the rabbit hole. Even a rough breakdown of your process—or what you would recommend—would help me figure out a good direction.
