How shall I make a river?

Can’t you just use something like WorldCreator or WorldMachine to make realistic rivers? I assume if they can make a mesh for a landscape, they should also make one for rivers that go downhill.

river tool is coming in next version of WM but its not exactly what people are looking for here. You’d still have to manually place the rivers in Unreal

May I ask where you got that information from?

“A current version with the river tool has dropped to the alpha testing team a week ago; changes and additions are still being added at this point before the Dev Channel release.”

There are two types of river in the kite demo, two meshes, one with a calm material and the other with a slightly ‘busier’ material.

Although I am currently trying to figure out how to get the automatic shoreline from the water mesh to work when I export it to my own project. Has anybody else tried to do it? The shoreline should appear according to the slope angle on the intersecting landscape. If you open the Forest and Lake level and move the lake up and down you will see what I mean.

Thanks.

Couldnt a river be made using landscape material? At certain clamped heights, deep = ocean/shallow = puddle/river between them?
