I made a map for Unreal Tournament 3 several years ago and I was wondering how much the new Unreal Tournament lends itself to porting it over? Is the concept of brushes still around is it it all mesh-based now? As you can tell I’m very early into finding out information but I’m tentatively interested. My PC is also from 2007 so can I even run the editor and see all the shaders when, for example making textures.
It’s not so easy to port that into the UE4 -> you will have to export everything - import it - set up everything again
There is still a brush system in the UE4, but you cant import old brushes into the new system
Have you made the map with UDK?
I used the Unreal Editor that came with Unreal Tournament 3. I suppose it was never going to be easy, I just had an old map for Counter Strike Source and porting that over to Counter Strike Global Offensive was actually very easy. Of course the technology wasn’t as advanced a leap as UT3 -> new Unreal Tournament.
Try this:

Works for me. The results how ever, are not too great tbh. if you are just doing brushes you are honestly better to just start again.
Yep, that would be better, because brushes are not so good for the performance + it will take a while till you have exported/import all the stuff again + you might have to add a lightmap, collision,… or the uv maps are broken
