How does the input mapping context know that" W" is run forwards?

The title asks the question - how do WASD translate to joystick movements/axis’ in the new Input Mapping Context system.

The new system is just so horribly over complicated compared to the old ways of doing things, and with all these Unity developers looking to jump ship it just seems like the dumbest least opportune time to be playing around with the basics like this. Unreal Engine just loves dropping the ball on the basics it seems.

So ranting over with, can anyone explain this to me?

Hey @fickbowt!

In order for the context to know forward, back, left, and right, the correct modifier needs to be put on each key value.
