How do you render a material over all other materials?

Hi.

I do not want a material to be occluded.
I enabled custom scene depth. Now what?

I tried looking at this Mini Tutorial on rendering occluded actors using Post-Process | Unreal X-Editor
But this is overly complex for simply wanting a material to not be occluded.
And there is zero explanation as to what does what.

Copying and pasting is not my style.
Just point me in the right direction.

Thanks

also read that. doesnt answer my question.

What actually controls if its on top or not

I ended up using widgets. All i needed was a pop up to draw over other things. I wanted to do this with particles but my brain isnt understanding the custom depth thing atm. So umg came to the rescue
