I have a falling building I need animation. For lots of reason, I don’t want to use physics on this, it has to break apart and fall at a specific and repeatable animation.
I have googled matinees and found a lot of skeletal involvement, something I have no need of. More than this, it might hinder my work. I could make this destruction animation in maya or 3d max or even unreal engine 4, but I just need some guidance on how to do it as painless as possible.
My building has several meshes, with appropriate materials. Would prefer to make those materials in ue4 ![]()
The thing is I also want it to be easily editable. If I could do it in an external 3d editor, I could easily make modifications; faster than in ue4.
Some examples of deformation/animation: bending metal, crumbling stone, cracking of various objects. The rest like shattering glass or particle effects I would indeed ad from ue4’s system.
