How do I import Alembic files without losing the materials?

When I import files saved in Alembic format (animated garments created in Marvelous Designer) all of the UV mapping, materials and textures seem to be irrevocably lost.

There doesn’t seem to be any way to import animated point cache information into Unreal without all the materials information being lost. Or am I missing something?

I would like to be able to import animated point caches into Unreal (in Alembic or any other supported format) and still retain all the original material and texture mapping information please?

Can anybody help?

I have same issue. TextureMap.ini file should be importing it, but that is not happening whatever i do.

I’m not sure if this will work, but I just read about a method where you import 1 frame of the alembic as an FBX first, and that brings in all the materials, then you import the alembic and select make materials and find materials and also deselect flatten. I’m trying at the moment, but my alembic import has taken over an hr, ue4 still not responding.
