How do I get Japanese Text Render to display?

So I’m trying to render Japanese text onto the screen however despite importing the Japanese font and setting the font it refuses to display.

Am I missing something here in order to get the font to display?

How does the Text Material look, is it using the correct Font Distance Field texture?

I tried importing it both via offline and runtime options but to no avail. I also set the use distance alpha setting but still cannot generate Japanese characters.

Is this what you’re referring to by “Font Distance Field Texture”?

I tried that but it ended up not working out.

Still no resolution on how to do this… any ideas?
