Hi guys,
I was thinking, it would be neat if I could force the auto exposure calculations to disregard the base colour of objects. At the moment, when the camera looks at a dark coloured object, the exposure compensates for it heavily, making the overall image brighter.
For my project, I feel like I would see the best result if auto exposure omitted basecolour from its calculations.
To be honest… it doesn’t quite give the results I was expecting. I’m not sure if it is broken in 5.4.3 (given that it is experimental… its entirely possible) or if it is behaving correctly and my expectations are just off
Oh thankyou! Seems perfect for me.
Edit: actually it is kinda weird. i can see it working in a sense. When i look at a white object, and then at a black object in the same lighting conditions, the autoexposure does not change. Which is just what I wanted.
It does not help that the parameters are not documented, but perhaps fiddling with them can make it work better.
