I have turn all setting to low in Settings Scalability and Material quality. Turn off bloom and SSAO. However UE4 still doesn’t finish packaging after 5 hours in Windows. Does anyone know how to speed it up just for quick overview in form of package. Thanks.
rendering settings have zero relation to packaging speed. packaging speed is determened by the speed of your cpu, the speed of your HDD/SSD, the amount and speed of your RAM and the amount of assets you have to package. you can either increse your system speed or reduce the asset size of the project. you can also specify what maps and assets to package in the setting if you just need to test one level.
I want to achieve something similiar. Is there a way to “dummy-package” your game? So basically it isn’t really packaged nor are the shaders precompiled but you can test the build configuration (things like asset includes, input configuration, networking, client-server executables).
This best way to do this is to go to the maps to include in packaging list and only use the specific ones which are intended to test with.
