How can I select ControlPoints via CLI?

Hi,

I’m working on a 100% automated Workflow for repetive reconstructions.

I want to reduce the Weight of ControlPoints from the default 10 to 3.
How do I do that?

I know that I can use
-editControlPointSelection "gpWeight=3"
to set the weight for the selected ControlPoints.

But there is no command to actually select any oder all of the ControlPoints.

Hi AndreasMeyerRP,
I am sorry but this is not possible to do now. But there is a feature request for that command, so it should be possible in one of the future releases.

You’ve got to be kidding me. First request for this feature was in 2018, and in 2024 there’s still nothing.

This is a basic feature for basic functionality. How else am I supposed to use the -editControlPointSelection command? Why even include it if there is no corresponding command to create a Control Point selection?

Basic basic stuff guys, come on. Try a little.

Hi @shveddy, the link you attached is from 18th January 2024, not from January 2018.
But it is true that the feature request is almost one year old. I added your note there to improve the request’s priority.

Has there been any movement on this request?

Hiya,
I’m also looking for an update on this as I’d like to assign coordinates to specific Control Points, all of the editable options seem to be available except selecting the Control Point to start with. Maybe, the ability to create Control Points with specific parameters would achieve this, but I don’t think we can access that either?

Hi, this is still not possible, but the command is planned to be implemented.
