How can i create transparent parts of a texture?

I have created this flag in Photoshop, but when I try to place my flag onto an actual flag in-game, the transparent parts dont appear.

Can anyone help me with this?
Also when I try to place the textures on the actual flag in-game, only 1 side is textured, the other is blank.
This has happened with an array of different flags from 2 marketplace bought flag packs.

Set your material to masked, and use a black/white texture where black is not rendered.

I’ve seen tutorials like this before. But I don’t exactly understand. I put the flag into Photoshop and duplicated the red channel, then went to adjustments → levels and made it so that my flag was completely white but the transparent parts were black and saved as a TGA. Still no luck.
