How can I create a "speed" effect as seen in CW's "The Flash"

Hey guys. I’m working on a fan project based on DC characters (just for fun, not to distribute or anything). I’ve never used Cascade before, and I was wondering if anybody had any tips on creating the trail effect shown in the screenshot. I only want it to show up during certain animations. If somebody could show me an example material/particle setup or link me to a tutorial that would be great.


The closest thing I would think of is making a particle effect that you attach to your actor / pawn / character that you enable only when certain animations are played. Then its just a mater of making your particle effect look the part.
