Horrible rendering artifacts when rendering with depth of field.

I’m having terrible rendering artifacts when my camera is close up to the subject. My camera settings are pretty default with DSLR cam 2.8 f-stop 50mm lens.

My rendering command consoles are pretty simple too. I tried everything including removing the post process object, render commands, volumetric height fog and increasing the f-stop of the camera to 4.0. I tried rendering without Anti Aliasing but then weird ghosting happens when the camera moves. I cannot get around this issue. The only thing I figured out was that these artifacts appear when the camera is close to the subject.

I’ve seen a large number of posts with the same issue in the recent past. I haven’t been following them to see if there has been a solution, so I can’t offer much but to suggest searching those recent posts. Definitely seems like something broke with DoF recently.

I actually solved it by finding a similar post on this forum. Just turn off “Alpha Output” in the Default Settings of your Project Settings.
