Ok here’s what has happened,
assuming it was not the ABC AR App…
thru launcher i have the new 4.13-2 version going.
Ok, after i loaded a 4.13 project build into Androind for GearVR and opened the DEV mode I noticed since phone was laying flat, that my over the shoulder 3rd person camera was now facing down, i moved phone and found for the first time in memory that it had full GYRO mode going in dev mode. I had never encountered this before with all the bad settings going thru learning curves, in 4.11 out to Android for GearVr in Dev mode there was never any gyro activation, no matter if HMD on camera was checked or unchecked. You always had to use gamepad 9devmode) to look around. moving phone did nothing and had stable edges 'on screen (to my memory) ’
I panicked, and then opened a days earlier 4.11 project that had been run before and camera was locked looking over shoulder. Upon opening this time it acted like the camera described above. Moved phone and had full HMD rotating GYRO mode going. MIND starting to melt at that point WT?. Full panic set in…
blamed ABC AR fella, did some R&D, went to samsung, they said your buggered on os roll back. Came home been thinking bout what might casue this.
HMD?
Opened up my 4.11 project in editor, and HMD was checked on camera. Since i had gotten used to it just working I alwasy left this at default. And every build prior had been fine, no HMD gyro from cam in dev or in gear-hmd. So I unchecked it and ran a test. Gyro mode was gone, camera now locked to boom and was a 3rd person cam again locked and allowed gamepad movement of player and camera-boom.
But when i moved phone the windows shook like gyro was trying to take over, this felt abnormal.
I was asked to post here a request for a test.
a generic 4.11 - 3rd person project,
Build 2 versions. HMD On and Off.
test in Dev Mode.
Is GYRO mode active in either build?
and what happens to image when phone is moved around quickly. do the edges wobble or are they locked.
preferably on a phone that is a virgin to 4.13, no builds ever on it.
And if you want to test full theory. taking big chance on expendable phone.
If the 4.11 builds have no GYRO… then do the same with a 4.13 project.
build load test, GYRO?
then open the 4.11 and see what happens.
a 4.11 difference would be no GYRO before but now full GYRO active. and screen wobble.
Ok i hope that’s enough.
I dont mind now knowing HMD is actually affected by setting for gearvr, but that screen wobble if it translates to the HMD gaer when on and goes beyond being a dev mode sticky issue then problems exist.
ok thanks fer reading that mess above.
