High resolution Rendering with Pathtracer in 5.4

Hi veryone,

I am fairly new to Unreal - Using it since 2023.
Using it mostly for Archviz I have run into an issue lately that is a mystery to me:
With Unreal 5.1 I could easily render images from the renderque that where up to 9k with a solid antialiasing.
Since I switched to Unreal 5.4 suddenly my whole computer freezes even with a sice of 5000 pixels length. I am only rendering one image/frame, how is this possible? I use a very good working station with an RTX 4090. I cant really figure out what the issue is. This also happened in 5.3.

Anybody?

Thanks so much

Since 5.1, Pathtracer has implemented support for many more things, which is why it can be slower and consume more memory. When rendering, you can check the Task Manager to see if your GPU is getting overwhelmed.

hi again,
months later, same issue. Thank you for the answer. But could you let me know how to change the settings n 5.4 (or later) to I can go back to reasonable render times?
For needing mostly still images - this is quite important to my workflow.
Can I adjust any default settings of the pathtracer for example?
When ever I set smaller resoltutions it takes im seconds only.
Thanks…
