I’m pretty sure at least £500 worth of people have responded to post already saying they’d buy it, so you have a good of meeting that mark

, I sent you a PM. Please check your inbox. I am an Indie developer and I might have something interesting for you. Great terrains BTW.

These look awesome! How did you make them? I’m guessing World Machine, but what about the textures? Are they tiling, blended together with erosion maps? Or giant, unique mega-textures?

I think I’ve read somewhere that epic will pay you every 45 days … so even is lot of people have already buy pack, you may not be paid until january … I really hope to be wrong on one but I don’t think so … maybe epic will make an exeption for you…

btw your terrains look good

good luck

[edit] … market place buisness term quote :

https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/marketplace-business-terms-faq

Aghhhhh ****, No i was not aware of that. I though UE4 was a god send for $19 a month and being able to release with the current engine you have no matter what but provide 5% of all income.

Why Market place content gets charged at 30% to Epic and tax passed onto seller direct with such latent payment rules is shocking. All i can suggest is 2 sets of law firms were contracted to draft contract terms, One for the Engine terms and One for the Market place.

Not sure what to say really, Looks like Food out a bin for me Christmas then. **** **** ****!. Maybe i can sell my furniture and TV.

do you know when will it release?

Hey,

I really looking forward to .

Well done!

does anyone know what happened to because I dont see it on trello anymore

i saw today they moved it back into marketplace internal review because they need King Badger to send them the 50gig of files

Yep, After being pointed to the Market place T&C’s it became clear was never going to provide income for me within the time frame necessary to stop being evicted in December. Everything is done and ready to go other than the fact for some reason the test level packs for UE4 will not correctly load into other peoples builds (ive been getting friends to test loading in my project files that at point have been causing errors, some cases nothing getting imported at all. Im still working on trying to find WHY! is happening.

But ive also been commisioned some freelance terrain work for a game project by another team on here that need custom terrain work done that will pay within normal payment periods (Epic 45days to get paid, REALLY!). So that’s were my time is most spent right now and reason things have not been sent off or the annoying ■■■■■■■■ reason why my example maps for the packs are not working correctly in other peoples builds of the exact same engine release.

I’m on the case, but I’m not sending the 62GB files on HDD to Epic UK until I know they will work correctly for people and wont need me ******* around any more than I already have had to sending HDD’s back and forth to fix issues on such a large data bundle.

Epic could do us all a favour and drop their requested percentage from 30% of sales to something more in-line with the engine terms, But hey i guess they just see the market place as an easy cash cow.

may i know your contact E-mail address? Your PM inbox is full

Hey Budd,

Yeah sorry about that, that’s something else ive wanted to moan about to Epic. What is it with these ridicoulsly small PM accounts (I think i only have 12 messages or something in there, AND IT’S FULL. Lol), Had the same with message sorry you can’t contact EPIC employee by PM as their inbox is full. 10-20 PM TEXT mails and that’s your account full, Who’s great idea was that as a cap?.

Crushed, Ill delete some messages and get back to you, Obviously im not going to give you my work email on here as i don’t need to be sorting through hundreds of rubbish mails when people are contacting me about graphic design work / Web design work which is my main business (or giving the haters a target email to attack).

Ive been setting up some new email accounts for my new game company Badlamagames.com, Ill get you some contact info shortly from that web address.

Cheers

Good news, It seems we have managed to find why my project files would not load correctly into other peoples builds of the same build number.

For some reason renaming shaders created within editor or models after being imported and moving to another directory is the problem. Now seems to be OK after simple delete and reimport. should now be possible to get the terrain packs finished, packaged and sent.

I want up before Christmas for people, Have to mail some Epic boys and girls to see if that’s going to be possible. I just want done, 4-5 months of work gone into now. If i can get up by 1 December at least i have a of not getting evicted in January. Ive managed to sort things for December but it’s the same January unless i can get done and make some decent money that doesn’t include me having to sell my furniture and other bits to friends on tick if can’t repay.

And to top it off ive got a nasty eye infection in my right eye, I’m going to call it Stress eye syndrome.

Cheers J

Find another place to upload the files and sell them directly from that place. Avoid the 30% fee entirely and get paid sooner. I’m not sure why you aren’t working harder to find a solution for if it means possible eviction from your home. I’d have content on like 5 different websites by now and offering PayPal transactions. Files too big? Upload it 5 maps at a time and sell them for $15 or something.

Epic is clearly the best platform to sell stuff, but you won’t be getting any sales when it’s not on the marketplace. Epic is going to do what Epic needs to do, irregardless of your content or your situation. Also, 45 days for payment is standard. I’ve had contracts from large companies in the past that took 3 months after completion date to be paid, and that was written into the contract. 45 days is pretty standard for a process like the Marketplace. Be glad it’s not per fiscal quarter.

Hey ,

I’ve made clear before is not that simple. I will be selling my Terrain packs in other area’s after Epic’s marketplace, If you read my previous posts you would know the reason i was sending work on hard disk is im stuck on a wireless hotspot for ALL my internet needs. It has a max 300kb download and max 45kb upload, to upload even one would take 24 hours but as it’s a hotspot connection it automatically disconnects every hour or so meaning it next to impossible to get anything over 200mb uploaded within that time period.

To say why are you not working harder is a slap in the face, The problem’s im having is that after a period of illness i ran up about £9000 of credit card debt that large parts were on 0% interest for a set period.

That period has now ended for most that debt which means my minimum payments have gone up massively, and a large chunk of that minimum payment is just interest. Which means each month that passes is harder to pay rent and bills and credit cards. I managed to get December sorted by taking on extra custom design work which has to take priority over the packs that i can never guarantee ill make any decent income from.

But i still have to do my normal work at the same time. There’s only so many hours in a day. I want done considering the 45 day payment period (if your lucky) to help out in January, But i can’t release unless it’s ready for people to use.

I would love to get done and finished but i can’t send Epic work that is not complete, and the rules Epic have set means having to have pre built levels. I had been testing these by giving to friends to try to load in the project files which was not working correctly, I’ve managed to find out why that was but still took time.

Now things are working i can get on the HDD and sent to Epic UK, But please don’t talk to me like is something I have caused by laziness. I find that unkind and unfair. Ive put nearly 6 months work into for people and im charging the bare minimum, 25 terrains per pack for $45 dollars that epic take 30% and tax is my means each terrain that takes me about 1-2 days to finish gets me about 20p (40 cents ish).

I can understand you want , but attacking me helps nobody. Cheers

Can you compress it and upload ?

62 GB = 62,000 MB = 496,000 mbit
45kbit/s = 16.2 mbit/h

496,000mbit / 16.2 mbit/h
= 30617h
= 1275 days of upload time.

Forgive my if did a mistake somewhere… but I think: No, he cannot compress and upload it.

, I don’t think anyone’s attacking you.
They just didn’t realize it’s no option for you because of your situation.

Hope it will work out soon.

I think your conversion from 45kbit/s to 16.2 mbit/h is incorrect. It should be 45 kbit/s = 162 mbit/h, which isn’t a great inprovement
