Hiding specific morph parts on a character model

So I have a character model with morphs on the face and the body, I tried to hide the morphs on the body by applying a transparent material to it - which worked for awhile until the mesh was morphed, at which point a grey feature-less material is rendered where the body morphs should be. Is there a way to disable body morph and retain face morphs without editing the FBX? Or at least disable this “placeholder” grey mesh being generated in UE4?
