Hi, I can import a video mp4 as a texture and it looks fine in model and preview. But if i create a video and render it, it disappears and become white/blank

i tried to convert to mpeg and it's not working either

If i do the same steps with the demo video provided it works

but i dont understand why

Hello ,

This sounds like it might be a bug. Could you please submit a bug report here with a copy of your Twinmotion file (be sure to use the Resource Collector in the Edit menu of Twinmotion to package and compress your file with all textures) and your exported renders? Our support team can investigate what might be going wrong.

Best,

Hello Zoevie,

Maybe you have the same problem I used to have:

when I changed a texture to video, it worked on the demo, but the rendered video was white blank.

It works since I use the "Videos" material.

What kind of video demo did you followed till now? Can you copy the link?

Hi Artenim,

thanks for your answer

I followed these steps :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e3-1PPwkzY

  • material picker
  • color > more > texture > open
  • file location : local disk>program files>EpicGames>Twinmotion2022>Twinmotion>Binaries>Win64

So this shows up blank at render

When I try with the default video from Twinmotion located in the materials folder under "video" it work perfectly at the render

but I cannot find how to put my video in that folder.

I tried to put my video in : local disk>program files>EpicGames>Twinmotion2022>Twinmotion>content>movies

still blank at render

and the video does not show in the material folder in Twinmotion

what does "use the videos material" mean ?

cheers

Yes, I thought of this method, it hasn't worked for me for a while either.

This method turns an image texture into a video texture with a little trick.

It doesn't always work that way for me.

What works ( and you also tried this), is to put video material on the surface and replace it. But I guess you didn't replace it, but wanted to choose a new one (your own) and it didn't work.

I think you should try to simply replace it first.

So drag the original video you find in the library onto the surface and just open another one.

If you click on the texture (which is a video here), the menu will appear. Here you can open your own video from anywhere on the hard drive with the "open" button and don't have to trick with the file format.

You don't need to copy your clip to the TM library, just find it where it is.

I'm curious if it works that way for you or not.....

Thank you so much !

yes it worked !!
