Heya! I’m a new user with unreal, and I’m not sure where I’m going wrong with this.
So I’ve got this mysterious shadow on one of my tree that I want to get rid of.
- Each tree is using a different material.
- The tree to the left has a stubborn “always on” soft shadow that just won’t quit. (I want to remove that shadow because as seen with the tree on the right, it’s obscuring some dappled-light on the trunk which looks quite nice.)
- Even if I disable shadows for both trees in the details panel (as seen in the second and third screenshots), the tree on the left still has this mysterious shadow on, however the tree on the right is succesfully shadowless. I want to get rid of it, but not sure how or what is causing it.
- I think it’s something to do with the material, not the static mesh. I know this because if I swap the materials on the trees, then it’s the exact same problem the other way around.
- I’ve set up the materials in almost identical ways, the only significant difference I’m aware of or discovered is the tree on the left is using a Speedtree node to enable wind animation.
- If anyone has any advice or insight, I’d really appreciate it! Thank you
