Help w/ VR Oculus Touch Thumbstick Axis 'Variability'

Hello!!! Go wash your hands, Lysol spray your keyboard, Mouse and Phone, then: come back and help me!

With Oculus Touch Thumbstick Axis (as in the Input settings) is there a way to,. (I saw it ia dream…) make it so:
if you press the Thumbstick to the right side lightly you will freeform turn to the right slowly, you can turn faster by pushing more all the way to 100% which would be full spin ./ OR if instead, you FLICK the thumbstick to the right and back to center, you Snap turn right by 45 (or 90) degrees
Maybe two levels of Snap turn, 45 degrees, unless the back to center is past a given time threshold then it turns 90°
If you like and implement this idea PLEASE let me know how you did it  I am mostly a Character Animator and world builder but am teaching myself (and with all the answers here) Blueprints so I can build games quasi solo, but if there is any sort of ‘variable thumbstick’ out there for other stuff that might help too  there are some things I just never fully learn by ‘rote’ until I see the end result, how they are done as I learn best by… reverse engineering,.

THANK YOU, BE HEALTHY!

i suggest you to start with going to project settings and then Input tabs
open the Axis Mappings list and you will see MoveForward and MoveRight Axis.
you can find those events in blueprint classes such as pawn, character or playerController and…
going to be output parameter in those events you can get what you want as how much those thumsticks moved and in which directions. with multiplying that value to any other movement or rotation logic that you want to implement, and you can get your effect. Cheers!

Thanks, but in other words, no help for me!!! If I could understand your vague answer —> I would NOT NEED HELP! To be honest there is nothing in your answers I don’t deal with every day I just don’t know how to do this and thought I’d ask,. But that is no help to anyone learning why would you even put that? It seems like a deliberate insult…

This is as close as I got I figure i need to make it a Variable, and to ‘scale’ the value of a ‘Make Input motion’ or hell I don’t know. I am against a wall again after that.

I hate Unreal.

As a Character Animator and Artist I’ve worked in 3ds Max since it was 3D Studio for DOS,. worked on feature films I have THOUSANDS of youtube subscribers, I’m no slouch but as a Character Animator, Artist etc, I learn best by reverse engineering this stuff, not the tutorials which are like water off a ducks back ----> I get to the end of a 9 hour tutorial and I’m like: WHAT???

It’s just not how some people learn… !

Why would you even take the time to go that far and no further? I have NEVER ONCE seen a generous person here. It is always like PULLING TEETH. I wasn’t like that teaching Autodesk tools for 30 years. I actually helped, a lot and often.
