HELP: How to create a Multiple Level Set Up Using the Same Camera Moves?

What is the correct way to set this up?

Let’s say I have one environment level where I have all my camera moves set up in Sequencer
but I want to try out some different lighting or other environmental effects without touching the original version of the scene.

I usually set up things like this:

Persistent Level - contains all f the physical environment and models minus lighting

Lighting Level - All lighting and main atmosphere plus sky

I thought I could just save another version of the environment level
and just load up a different lighting scenario level as needed.

It seems to work but then all my cameras turned red in Sequencer.
Even though I could play and preview them in the Editor it would
not render in the Movie Render Que.

So then I thought maybe all the cameras need to be in their own level too but that did not work either.

Any ideas?
