HDRI Sky Render Noise / Low Resolution

I had the perfect sky setup for my scene and rendered out in 4K, however on looking at the file - the sky hdri has rendered with blotches? It looks like an extremely low resolution HDRI has been used?

Annoyingly I had to swap out for another that I didn't like as much for it to render clean.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks

Edit: Added sky without blotches for reference

In Edit/Settings/Skydome resolution check that you have selected High in Export.

I think this has something to do with the update from 2022 > 2023. I've also not changed the Skydome resolution setting (always set both Viewport and Export to High), and noticed that my Skydome resolution became low, I think after the 2023 update.

In my case I simply replaced the "Empty" Skydome with the same MoAF Cloudy11 and the quality is high again - although overall light quality has changed but I can make some adjustments to get it closer to the original.

If your problematic low res HDRI came from the TM library then you should be able to find its high res replacement.

The real pain is that I have to do this for each keyframe in all my video setups, as well as saved camera setups - TM still offers no way to apply this globally.

Ah, okay - so 22>23 not to blame.

Just wondering if you changed your library locations to somewhere other than the default Documents folder. I moved mine to a Dropbox folder and the problem seemed to start around the same time (I think it's around the time I upgraded from 22>23, hence my original thought that I had found the culprit). Can't see why it could be the cause though, as the hdri's are not kept there - but it's just a thought.

Hello ,

Thank you for posting in the community and this does seem like a migration bug, and recommend you contact us to report this if you have not already done so. Here is the link to report a bug: https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/case-community-page

Thanks I'll check that and see if I can replicate it. I don't recall changing any settings at all, and definitely didn't when I changed to the other sky

Thanks for replying man. It seems we have the same problem, however all of my issues were soley on 2022. I'll keep digging for an answer
