I remember using it a while ago and really didn’t like it. Gave it another try today and it’s actually looking good for my exterior architecture scene!!! No noticeable light leaks…
Is it a feature that will continue being worked on in the future? I know it was a Lionhead studios contribution but I haven’t followed the dev of the feature…
LPV is not being actively developed by Epic but the is maintained for any crashes or regressions that do occur.
There are a few things with LPV that would probably need to be added to make it more than just an experimental feature, like having the option to use it with point and spot lights would be ideal, since it can only be used with Directional Lights in your scene.
The last code check in from Lionhead Studios was for 4.9, I believe. I’m not sure if/when another checkin will be coming though. For right now I can only suggest to keep an eye on the Release Notes for new major releases of the engine.
I’m glad you’ve seen an improvement in your scenes with it though!!
