A new version of HacknPlan has been released! We introduce some of our announced premium features like the time tracker, batch operations for tasks and project templating. We also add some core improvements such as task relocation for finishing milestones, platform customization, and a storage manager.
Didn’t read entire topic so sorry if it has been asked.
But is there front facing public API available, to create integrations with other applications ?
No, there’s no public API yet, but there will be one for sure. We are finally leaving the beta at the end of March, and it will be one of our main priorities after that.
This is the last update before we leave the beta phase and release HacknPlan 1.0, scheduled for March 27th. We will hide in a cave for around a month to complete our roadmap, finish the documentation and perform an extensive QA of the system.
This update comes with many new features for premium users like Slack integration, Gantt chart, roles and advanced filters. We also include some improvements for free users too, like filters for design element tasks, comments with work logs and some others. Read more:
Unfortunately I do not have the time to read through the entire thread, but could you give me a short summary on what makes this different from JIRA or a customized Trello board?
Besides other features, the most important one is the integration of a structured and dynamic version of a GDD, which allows you to define the design of your game (mechanics, levels, characters…) as you would do in a wiki or document adding formatted text, pictures…, but then you can add tasks to these design elements, track their progress and get metrics. This is a way of giving more context and meaning to the tasks, plus a way to keep your GDD updated and under control. It also provides other features like categorization by gamedev category (programming, art, design…), milestones with deadlines, metrics and reports, etc.
We haven’t posted anything here in a while, and the reason is we are preparing the release of HacknPlan 1.0 that will take place on April 3rd. This major update will include most of the features announced on our roadmapplus some other improvements, a full documentation and the subscription system for the premium plans that will allow monthly and yearly cycles and a 2-week trial.
On the other side, pre-orders at a 33% discount are available until March 31st.
We here at Binary Sword Pty Ltd very look forward to the final release of HacknPlan and cannot wait until your public API is released so we can integrate your service with our UE4 ODIN Tracker Plugin as it’s getting to the point where we’ve been receiving on nearly a daily basis requests to support HacknPlan
I’m even considering porting over our Game IPs from JIRA to HacknPlan now that the service is more fleshed out
Hell I might even take a look at creating an articy:draft 2/3 to HacknPlan integration at some point.
That sounds good, we expect to release the API around summer, so we hope the community starts to build great things with it
Just to clarify, this is not the final release of HacknPlan, is just the beginning!! This is our first major release but we will keep working on it and delivering frequent updates as always.
This is already available for the premium plans. Well, not sure if exactly like they do, but you can link HacknPlan projects with GitHub repos and write the task id on the commit message, what makes it appear in the task details in HacknPlan.
The Personal Plus one, for individual users, which includes integrations and other features, is around 5.5 USD per month or 52 USD per year. The Studio plan for companies, which includes more features, is around 8.6 USD per seat / month or 78 USD per seat / year.
This will start next Moday, when we release 1.0, and a 2-week trial period will be available. At the moment, you can preorder them at a 33% discount.
We have released the first update since the delivery of HacknPlan 1.0 at the beginning of April. We haven’t added many new features this time, we focused on stability and performance issues instead, as well as bug fixing. However, we released a very important feature for our Studio users: the customization of kanban columns.
Read more about these and other improvements on our blog: !
A new update of HacknPlan has been released! The main feature we have implemented is the integration with GitLab, but we have also added many improvements, like task references in Markdown descriptions (with autocomplete), easier dependency definitions, weekday config for the burndown chart, performance improvements… We also fixed a ton of bugs!
Are there any plans on a Perforce integration? I know a lot of people who use Perforce and I also prefer Perforce over any Git solution, at least for binary based project, aka UE4 Blueprint Projects.
We’d love to, of course. We still need to evaluate what are the integration options available for Perforce, since we need to be able to get notified about the events happening on the instance. We know that Assembla, which has support for Perforce, provides webhooks, but we still need to get knowledge about other solutions to see if it’s possible.
