Ground Control Import error

Hi there,
Im having an issue import control points into RC - I have taken the points in Global CS WGS 84 but when Import as a .txt file its showing an error - Ground Control point position is not valid for given coordinate system (18001) - the file reads;
1 -2.24708146 49.24437622 126.009
2 -2.24772296 49.24392219 126.009
Can anyone offer some help to a Noob like me. Thanks in advance

Hi CAPTURE2023,
this seems like you had wrong import settings for the GCPs. Have you had it like this:

When I used these settings the GCPs were on Jersey island. Is it right?

Hello, thanks for the reply. Yes I have managed to sort this thankfully.

I’m having one other problem, i am using a P4RTK drone for the dataset with 2 control points (I know this maybe be on the low side) RTK was used for the drone and to pull the ground control points. Once suggesting images, confirming and realigning I’m still getting an error or around 7cm on the X axis, could this be to lack of control points? I was hoping as it’s an RTK enabled drone that the error would be lower.

I have not added the flight log to the data set so maybe this would be a step to add into the workflow to help with accuracies.

Thanks

J

The error also depends on the precision how it was measured. For GCPs we can count with 3 cm, also RTK could have that precision and if you add it together it is 6 cm (I know this is a simple calculation but it could happen)
Also, how do you have set precisions in RC? Get it lower could help here (but you need to use the real precision).
Flight log could also help here.
