Groom ignores opacity mask input

Hi, Has anybody solved how to make unreal respect opacity mask on groom hair material and render it properly?
As you can see in the screenshot mask cuts geometry but rendered just ignores it.

I’ve been wanting to know this for months too, still haven’t seen any answers on how or if opacity/masking will ever be supported on groom/hair strand rendering. It’s a really crucial component for many use cases, would be really nice to have an answer.
